Kate completes Race to the Stones 100km run for War Child

Kate did it!

Kate and her running partners Sophie and Rebecca woke up early on Saturday morning full of excitement, nervousness and trepidation for what was lying in wait. The hype surrounding this incredible race was beyond anything that any of the girls had experienced before but they kept reminding each other that their goal of 100k was achievable, they had put in many, many hours of intense training for this one important but gruelling day. They had each other and by all accounts this is what pushed them through to the finish line at 2am on Sunday morning.
There must have been numerous times during the run that Kate wondered what on earth had possessed her to take on such a mind blowing commitment but nonetheless she kept running……and running. At one point, at 67k in, it became tough, really tough. However in true Kate Kilmartin fashion she downed a mug of sugary tea, turned the music up, jumped up from the grassy verge and hit the road again to head to the finish line where friends and family welcomed and celebrated her 17 hours and 25 minutes after leaving.

Kate – we are all so proud of you, it goes without saying that we are also in awe of such an incredible donation that, because of your commitment, Hawkfield Homes will be able to make to War Child.
We would really love to keep building on the amazing sponsorship to date, so it’s not too late – please, if you can, support Kate’s incredible achievement and make a donation to what is a very worthy charity.

Thank you.
